The Predators knew they had a point in their grasp. Against a team that hardly loses in its building, the Predators were five seconds away from escaping from Joe Louis Arena with a point. And then the Red Wings came back and won 2-1 with five seconds left. Nashville coach Barry Trotz likes to talk about "hockey gods." Maybe they were at play Friday. The Predators stole a point from the Boston Bruins almost a week ago in Boston in a game where they were severely outshot and outplayed. Still, the Predators should be a different team from this day forward. Friday, they acquired defenseman Hal Gill from Montreal, and he should make a big difference. Before Gill, the Predators had one defenseman listed over 6-foot-2.They had only two defensemen who were listed over 200 pounds.
